Holiday Episodes

I analyze the heck out of each episode of Chuck, you would be surprised at all the data points I keep on each episode. Things like which version of the Intersect Chuck had, how many times he flashed, what triggered each flash, and what he learned from it. I also track every Subway reference, the languages Sarah speaks, who manages the Buy More, the list goes on. I do this so that as I write, I can keep true to the spirit and feel of the original five seasons, which is really important to me. Another data point I keep is if the episode was set during a holiday. I don’t think there was a single holiday episode that I didn’t really like. Chuck vs Santa Claus (one of my favorites), Chuck vs the Isle of Terror, Chuck vs the Sandworm, Chuck vs the Gravitron, there are a lot of them and it seems like weaving the holiday into the plot always makes it better, I think that is because the best Chuck episodes are when the spy story and the family story collide and holidays are the perfect vehicle for that.
With that in mind, I’ve consciously tried to include holiday episodes, I have a Halloween episode and a New Year's Eve episode. I'd like to have a Christmas or Thanksgiving episode, but a Valentine's Day episode could be particularly poignant because at that point in the sixth season Chuck and Sarah’s relationship, or rather the lack of one, creates the emotional tension that Chuck has always done so well, its why twelve years after the final episode aired I'm still rooting for Chuck and Sarah and still telling their story.
